Elegent Victorian Polyphon, constructed from Walnut with superb Fruitwood inlay measuring 520mm in width, 480mm in depth, 240mm in height, record measures 400mm in diameter, a mechanical master piece, Polyphons were first invented in circa 1880, a closer look at this mechanical master piece reveals it is actually one of the first forms of computer storing infomation on a disc with carefully positioned slots storing the infomation of what note to be played, this same system was later transfered to paper or data cards to run early computers, to hear the delightful sound of the victorian era click play on the video below.
